Hey everyone! Chris from Electric Monk here. I hope you're all keeping well. I just wanted to make this quick video to share a brand new action step that's appeared in the HubSpot Workflows tool over the last couple of days, and it's a brand new delay action.
So, the delay action has always existed in HubSpot. You've got this delay for a set amount of time action, and you can say I want to delay the actions, below this step for X number of days, hours, or minutes. But that's traditionally been as far as you could go. A couple of weeks ago, HubSpot added to the ability to delay until a day or time. So say we've got a workflow and we want to delay the remaining steps in this workflow until Friday or until 3:00 PM. So that's been there for a couple of weeks, maybe even longer now. What's just appeared to have dropped over the past couple of days is this 'Delay until event happens' step.
So if we have a look at this, what this does is allow you to delay a workflow's remaining actions from happening until a particular event and has occurred. So at the moment, we've got the ability to delay based on page visits, form submissions or property values changed.
So to put this into context, let's say you've got a lead nurturing workflow and the lead potentially goes cold. What you can actually do is say I do want to continue this workflow, but I don't want to pick things up again until the contact comes back and visits our pricing page. So we'd say, we're going to create an event that is page visited equals pricing page and the workflow will now stop, whether that's for a day, a week, a month, a year, and won't actually pick up with the remaining actions until that particular event has occurred.
So, just to reiterate, we've got page visited, form submitted and property value changed. This has been a long requested feature in HubSpot, and it literally just dropped, I think, at the start of this week, so it's pretty exciting. That's all for now. Kudos to the HubSpot workflows team for adding this. This is really awesome.
Do let me know what you think down in the comments. I'd love to hear how you're going to use this. Cheers!
